What is Information Literacy? Why do we need to learn about it? How/When do we trust the information from a website?

Information Literacy is when you are able to read information. We have to learn about it so we can learn how to find information easily and stuff. And I know when, and how to trust a website when a website is popular and is safe. For example: Google is a safe site because it is popular. If you don't go onto a different bad site while searching, you are safe using Google.

Golfcross: I do not trust this site because I do not trust any sites that sell stuff online unless it is famous like the Walmart site or like Toys R Us site.

Buy Dehydrated Water: I do not trust this site because you have to use your credit card and you have to buy it. You have to give away your password too. So it is bad.

inreach: I trust this site because it doesn't have any money included in it, and seems like no bad stuff. You don't have to give ANY information out for this. No logons or sign ins. Only facts about stuff.

Dog Island: I do not trust this site because I think there is no such thing as a dog's island. And I would CERTAINLY not trust them and send my dog away that easily. And you have to give your email to them.

Shibumi: I trust this site because it is very funny, and has nothing but font on it. No links or anything. You don't have to give away any information at all. And no one in the world would believe they've reached the end of the internet. And no one would be stupid enought to turn the computer off and read.

Funky Shoes: I do not trust this site because they are ugly shoes and expensive. And I don't think it is safe to buy stuff online. And you have to use your cards and give your name and information away. And the picture of shoes probably are from google or something like that.

Funphone: SOOOOOOOO FAKE!!! HAhahahahahha that is so wierd. Who would order from a site? Mall is WAY better more choices. WAY cheaper. They are probably just trying to make money...

GDU: I trust this site because it only has facts... No longons or anything. You don't have to sign up for it.

I learned that it is not always safe on the web and stuff. Because you do not want to give away any important information away. Or even recieving junk mail and opening them can give you bad viruses.

S- Safe should be not giving out any important information such as your name, address, phone number, ect.

M- Meeting someone that is a stranger from the cyber space is also dangerous. You should only do so with your parents permission.

A- Accepting opening any junk mail may cause you some trouble... Like getting you very bad viruses.

R- Remember that someone might be lying about who they are and stuff so if you feel unconfortable about something, you should go somewhere public.

T- Tell someone like your parent or gaurdian if there is something that bothers you or makes you feel worried.

identity- A personality of an individual for example: She has another secret identity.

predator- The animal that is the hunter of a prey.

alias- AKA a name in a different place or time.

vetted sites- an examined and evaluated site

safety- protected, or a safe place. A place with no danger.

My Partner Interview:

Dear class,

Hi! I would like to talk about my partner interview. My partner’s name is Brooklyn. When I asked her what her favourite book was, she told me she liked the book Spiderwick Chronicles because it was something that made her read deeply into the book. She said it was good because she wanted to keep on reading to know what would happen next. And she also told me that the last book she read was a magazine from the library.

The best trick Brooklyn could do was she could flip a coin easily. She told me that her dad taught her how to. And she also said she could do many cool card tricks that her dad had taught her.

Also, I asked Brooklyn what her favourite food was. She said she really like turkey because it melts in her mouth, and chicken wings because it is very crunchy.

I learned a lot about my partner.

Sincerely,

Jenny
